Technologies, platforms and the emergence of the Experience Economy

Putting the customer at the heart of the business model

The experience economy is not a new concept, having been introduced 24 years ago (1998, HBR).

However, the emergence of platforms, the increase in computing power and the convergence of technological forces (Cloud, IoT, Big Data, Social Computing) are now enabling this concept to materialize and spread across markets: Companies are now personalizing interactions and products at the cost of mass production – This is mass personalization, the experience economy.
